Uncle vu I thought the guitar is great for my nephew. He is only 5 and loves to play on it even the tunes are not exactly there. It teaches him different sounds.

ShaunaA We purchased this for my aspiring artist's third birthday. He wanted to be like daddy and play guitar, but couldn't maneuver the big ones. I thought this was a little pricey for as tiny as it is, but he wanted a guitar (and we all know that you pay premium prices for those fantastic Disney guys). It was worth it. He LOVES having hiw own guitar and it made it even better that it has Lightning McQueen on it. The things that you turn to tune it (my husband would be embarrassed that I have no idea what they are called) are shaped like little wheels. It's adorable.

It is not like a real guitar though (other than the basics of being shaped like a guitar and having strings). I know nothing about musical instruments, but my husband said that the strings aren't in the right order so it cannot be tuned at all. It also only has 4 strings instead of 6.

To summarize, if you want a toy for your young one, this is perfect! If you want a real instrument for them to start learning basics, this probably isn't the way to go.

Mom of 1 Energetic Toddler Boy We originally got a Ukulele from the music store for our almost 2 yr old boy but decided he was too young for the real deal and got him this Uke. The sound isn't great, we might end up switching the strings out to help. He's learning the Uke is for making music- not a leaf blower or vacuum. Lol So this Mini Guitar works perfectly for his age. He's learning how to strum and hold it properly while mimicking other musicians play. Might give him back the real deal when he's 3 yrs old (which I believe is the recommended age for this product) because would prefer he learns to play with quality sound, but this is a great learning toy- especially for my energetic lil' man.

Mom of a music lover My son is 23 months old and obsessed with guitars, so it was a big deal when we took him to toys r us to buy his first one. When he first started playing with it, I was a little bummed b/c it wasn't so much musical as a sort of guitar-looking thing with pluckable strings, but my son didn't seem to mind so I shrugged it off. Then it went from bad to worse as within a week, two of the four strings broke entirely. My son still adores it, which is why I gave it two stars, but it is really so poorly made and not worth the price.

Big Momma My son begged me to buy this item for a while now and when I finally saw it on sale, I had to buy it. I did not expect the quality of this guitar to be as good as it was. The painting on it is also beautifully done. I would recommend this product to anyone who is thinking about purchasing this item. He now loves his music time with his new guitar.

Momof3 Bought this product for my 2 year old since he was always playing with my 5 year old guitar. It's good to start with. But this is not a quality guitar to play. More just for my 2 year old to bang on. Does not really even make a good sound when strung, but good for a young child to play around with instead of breaking an expensive one. He is very rough on toys and it has held up so far.

JohnsDad My 2 year old has had this guitar for almost a year now. He plays with it ALL THE TIME. He loves the real strings and it stands up to his abuse. It's the perfect size for him. Of course, he cannot fret chords or anything yet but he has learned to strum it and hold it properly. Great toy, especially for the price

Kathy My 2-yr old son LOVES pretending to play with sing along songs and with me! He takes this "guitar" everywhere with him! It is very durable as it has been dropped numerous times. One day I'm sure he'll learn how to actually play chords, but right now he just loves to play with it.

me it says it has working tuning knobs, but when you turn them the gears turn on the back side but the plastic piece on the front connected to the string does not move. also, the strings are out of order, it should go thickest to thinnest but they are all mixed up.
